Cayuga County Pool Program

Cayuga County Pool Program

The Cayuga County Pool Program has been in existence since the 1970s. It serves a variety of individuals with various orthopedic and neuromuscular conditions that require or benefit from an aquatic environment to exercise in. Some of these conditions include but are not limited to, Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson’s, stroke, osteoarthritis, total joint replacement, fibromyalgia, traumatic brain injury, and many more.

This program has many dedicated volunteers who help pool program participants both in the water and, if needed, in the locker room with tasks such as changing and showering. They are also available to assist individuals in and out of their car or the SCAT van.

The program meets Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 8:00-9:30 am at the YMCA-WEIU. There is a minimal fee per session, which is billed monthly by the County Health Department. A physician’s prescription is required for participation in the county pool program. Please direct any questions regarding this program to the office at 315-253-3291.
