Dr. Maria K. Shepherd graduated from SUNY Upstate Medical University in 2000 with a Masters of Professional Studies degree in Physical Therapy. In 2006 she completed her Clinical Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Upstate Medical University. Dr. Shepherd has always loved working with children of all ages, with a special place in her heart for children who have special needs. She has worked in many different settings over the last 20 years including school settings, outpatient clinics and in the home. She has worked with a diverse pediatric patient population including children with autism, muscular dystrophy, cerebral palsy, mytochondrial disorders, spina bifida, gross motor delay, developmental delay, and many more medical and educational diagnoses. Her passion is helping children to be happy, healthy and the most active they can be during their childhood years. Dr. Shepherd truly believes that, “Childhood is the most beautiful of all life’s seasons.
